Cameron Diaz - Gangs of New York

Premiering in 2002, Gangs of New York was based on the 1927 book of the same name by author Herbert Asbury. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film featured the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Cameron Diaz. The general Rotten Tomatoes aggregate review mentioned that the film “Though flawed, the sprawling, messy Gangs of New York is redeemed by impressive production design and Day-Lewis’s electrifying performance,” who would go on to win an Academy Award for Best Actor. Diaz, who played an Irish pickpocket, was criticized as a terrible casting choice. Specifically, she was recognized as having the worst Irish accent of the entire cast.
