Al Pacino - Scent of a Woman

Scent of a Women follows Chris O’Donnell’s character as he accepts a job assisting Lt. Col. Frank Slade, played by Al Pacino. This 1992 American drama is a remake of the 1974 Italian film, Profumo di donna, directed by Dino Risi. While some of the harsher critics complained that the “two-character conceit doesn’t warrant a two-and-a-half-hour running time,” Pacino was still awarded an Academy Award for this role. Many assume this award was given to Pacino as he had been passed over four previous times for the award, in much more prized performances. Therefore, there’s an asterisk that should be attached to this questionably award-winning performance.
