Sean Connery - The Hunt for Red October
The Hunt for Red October is based on Tom Clancy’s novel of the same name, the first film of which to feature Jack Ryan as its protagonist. With $200 million from box office sales (on a budget of $30 million), the film set the stage for the long-continued success of the Tom Clancy name in popular culture. In this film, however, we have to laugh that Sean Connery, a Scottish actor, barely hid his native accent. Connery, who is meant to play Russian Captain 1st rank, Marko Ramius, never even tries his luck at a Russian accent.
