Carey Elwes - Saw

After failing to win over producers in Australia, James Wan and Leigh Whannell traveled to LA in the hope they could find interest in their little story; a story that would end up becoming Saw. After shopping their project around, Evolution Entertainment gave the writers $1.2 million. The film was shot in 18 days. Even facing these intense circumstances, the writers were unprepared for a lackluster performance out of their main actor, Carey Elwes. The film’s Dr. Lawrence Gordon felt out of place.
