Staithes Beach is one of the United Kingdom’s most famous surfing spots. However, the beach is also so polluted, that any water sports (including surfing) technically aren’t allowed. The pollution is the result of runoff from nearby industrial facilities.

This small island off the coast of Queensland, Australia is quite appealing from the outside. It’s lush white sands and crystal clear waters give it the appearance of a tropical paradise. However, the island’s beauty hides a dangerous underbelly, as it’s packed with dangerous predators including dingos, poisonous spiders, sharks and jellyfish.
