Every year, the Transportation Security Administration – better known as the TSA – and other airport security agencies around the world screen millions of passengers. For the most part, these screenings are innocuous, but every once in a while something weird flashes by. These pieces of TSA contraband are some of the weirdest stories we’ve ever heard.
These discoveries ran the gamut from dangerous hidden weapons and movie props all the way to live tigers, lobsters, and hundreds – yes, hundreds – of live insects and tarantulas. The one thing all these pieces of TSA contraband have in common is that they should never be let anywhere near a plane.
