Mexico’s Playa Zipolite has the relatively forbidding nickname “Beach of the Dead” among locals. The name comes from the many deaths that have occurred thanks to the area’s heavy riptides and proximity to large resorts that draw in voice swimmers. The macabre name hasn’t kept away visitors though, especially since it’s Mexico’s only legal nude beach.
