Kenya’s Lamu Island Beach was once one of Kenya’s most economically successful resort areas. That was until the al-Shabab terror group from nearby Somalia began marking their territory in the area. The group’s pirates took over nearby waters, capturing visitors, and economically crippling the town.
Manaus Beach
Brazil’s Manaus Beach is doubly dangerous. For starters, the area is home to dangerous animals including alligators, piranhas, anacondas and electric eels. Beyond the animal kingdom, the area is also known for dangerous humans. Manus consistently has some of Brazil’s highest rates of both homicide and theft.
